Celaenea

Celaenea is Hesperia's colony on mainland Atlantis, first taken in the wars between the two powers at the close of the Dark Age and later handed over by treaty. It is only a narrow strip of the east coast, hemmed in by Poseidonea on three sides and the Oceanus on the last, but the Amazons treat it as a symbol of their power and standing.

It is the wealthiest and most populous colony, and its governorship, the top colonial post, nearly always goes to a close and trusted relative of the Queen. It is the only Hesperian land where foreigners may come and go freely, and its natives are spared the total slavery found in other Amazon lands, though the Amazons alone hold real power.

Daily life looks much like the rest of Atlantis on the surface, but the Hesperian military order stands behind it. The Queen visits often, so the garrison is twice the usual size, though the fleet is a single squadron of eight ships. The capital is the port of Merina.
