The Sylvan Races: overview

Creature, The Sylvan Races

Creatures of the remote wilds who stand between the faery folk and mankind. Some call them lesser Sidhe for their weak magic; each embodies a trait, from the satyr's lust to the centaur's boldness.

From the book

The sylvan races live deep in wild, remote country, occupying a middle ground between the faery folk and humankind. The Lore of the Druids notes that some call them lesser Sidhe, since many of them wield magic, though mostly of a feeble kind. Others see them as more natural versions of men who simply cannot hide what they are behind clever deceptions, so each wears its nature openly: the satyr its lust and excess, the centaur its daring and speed, the arcitenus its fearsome strength and the unicorn its marvelous beauty.

All sylvan creatures can travel through any kind of woodland without leaving tracks or other traces, and all gain +1 on saves vs Perception. The chapter covers the malataur, gwylion, satyr, unicorn, arcitenus and centaur.
