Living Statue

Creature, Magical Hybrids and Constructs

Magically animated sculptures carved from solid stone that match golems in nearly every respect, except that they can be made in any shape, most often gargoyles, winged lions, griffons or angels. Because there is no limit on their size, tales of gigantic living statues may well be true.

From the book

Living statues are magically animated sculptures carved from solid stone. In almost every respect they work like golems, with one difference: a living statue can be carved in any shape its maker wants, not just human form. Gargoyles, winged lions, griffons and angel-like figures are the most common choices, and one made to look like a bird or other flier can be given the power of flight by magic or alchemy. Since nothing limits how big one can be, the old stories of truly colossal living statues may well be based on fact. In play a statue weighs 360 lbs. per foot of height and deals double the damage of the creature it portrays. Its defenses are those of a stone golem: only spells of stone affect it, and it is immune to ordinary weapons, control spells, illusions, every poison and most common magic.
