Spell, Enchantment, level 1

Produces harmless, somewhat fake-looking minor illusions that can transfix or distract onlookers of modest intelligence.

From the book

The caster conjures an assortment of small illusions, such as colored sparkles, puffs of smoke or little objects drifting in the air. They cannot hurt anyone and look a bit false, yet they hold a strange fascination: creatures of low to medium intelligence must save vs Intelligence or stand staring at them for the whole spell. Even highly intelligent beings must save vs Intelligence or be distracted for 1 minute.

Creatures with no intelligence at all, and beings of super-human intellect, are unaffected. The illusions last 1 minute per level of ability.

A scene

The Caliph's gate guards in Veddashud were not supposed to let anyone past, but the enchanter Zara only wanted a minute. She flicked her fingers, and the air before them filled with colored sparks, little turning stars and a paper bird that flew in slow circles. The guard dog sat down and stared, mouth open, entranced. So did the younger guard. The captain, a clever woman, shook her head after a moment, blinked, and swore. By then Zara was through the gate and gone, and the dog was still watching the paper bird.
