The caster can see whether magic is present close by for a short time.

For a brief spell of 1 minute, the caster can tell by sight alone whether magic is present. The detection reaches only 10 ft. from him, so it suits close inspection of a person, object or doorway rather than a sweep of a whole room. No save applies, and the effect does not grow with the caster's level.

A scene
The children of the Borean Forest camp have found a hollow oak with a little door carved in its roots, and they want to go inside. Their shaman, Ilkka, makes them wait. He crouches two strides from the door, murmurs to the spirits, and for one short minute he sees plainly what his eyes usually miss. The door itself is only a carving. But the moss on the threshold shines with a faint, crawling enchantment that has no business being there. Ilkka sends the children back to camp and fetches an axe.
