Hair from a black cat shares the bat's-wing virtue of cursing or reversing an effect. A dram of it, joined by mercury, bat's wing and a ground fly, is what an alchemist adds to an ordinary potion to make it work backwards or bring misfortune; magical and mundane tests alike have only a 50% chance of spotting the mercury that betrays it. It costs 5 C.P. per dram.
