Chalk (1 circle of protection)

Enough ordinary ritual chalk to draw one circle of protection, for 1 S.P.

Before any summoning of a creature that could be dangerous, the caster must mark the Circle of Protection and the Thaumaturgic Triangle on the floor or ground. Ink or chalk may be used, or the figures may be scratched into the floor or traced in the dirt. The work takes an hour, or half an hour for elementals, who need no triangle. Chalks are among the standard supplies counted toward magical research costs.
