Reportedly a powerful hallucinogen, black lotus is taken as a powder or smoked, and it opens the mind to extrasensory perception in the form of E.S.P., Clairaudience and Clairvoyance. One dram is said to suffice, and its effects wear off after roughly an hour.
The cost goes well beyond money. Every further use raises the chance of addiction by another 5%, cumulatively, and there is no known cure. Addicts of long standing are said to require up to 24 drs. daily to hold off withdrawal, an excruciating ordeal that kills 99% of those who suffer it. The plant is found in swamps and sells for 200 G.P. per dram.
