Alchemical shorthand sign standing for wax; the book offers these as optional flavor or as substitutes for written abbreviations.

The alchemist's shorthand mark for wax. Wax turns up in several operations, for instance the drop of yellow wax that carries a grain of Variable Mercury, or the bee's wax that seals a homonculous vat.
The alchemical signs are included as optional color, and a player or Game Judge may write them in place of ordinary abbreviations whenever he or she likes.
