Refusal

Brewed from 4 drs. of lichen, it turns the drinker contrary for 5-20 minutes, so that he responds negatively to every suggestion or proposal, no matter what it is.

Each philtre stirs up one particular emotion or reaction in the drinker. It is mixed into a pint of wine using a mortar and pestle and a fire, taking 5-8 (d4+4) hours, with a 90% chance of success plus 1% per level of ability (99% at most). The wine makes it very hard to spot: a victim who actually questions what he is being offered may save vs Intelligence at -4 to realize it is not ordinary wine. Once swallowed, it takes hold instantly and allows no save. Philtres usually cost 100 G.P. when available.
