The caster receives a vision of some past event that took place within a chosen 100x100x100 ft. area. He might see a violent death, some rare or strange occurrence, or the passing of an individual or creature he knows. Whatever the vision, it is always rather vague or puzzling.

A scene
The ruined villa outside Chersonopolis was burned forty years ago, and no one knows why. The mystic Eudora stands in the middle of the blackened courtyard and asks the stones to tell her. The vision comes like a half-remembered dream: a feast, laughing guests, a red cloak, a scream from somewhere upstairs, and then smoke rolling across the painted ceiling. She sees a face, but it is blurred. She sees a hand holding a torch. When it fades she stands still for a long time, more puzzled than before.
