A protective circle 10 ft. in radius forms around the caster and shuts out insects of every kind, letting none of them cross into the protected area. The barrier holds for 10 minutes. The spell is Non-variable, and there is no save.

A scene
The Okawala marshes hummed with mosquitoes so thick they looked like smoke, and one of the pilgrims had turned an ankle in the reeds. The druid Kesi made them all crowd close around the injured man and spoke a word. The swarm drew back as though it had struck glass, hanging in a whining curtain a few paces off on every side. Nothing crossed that line. Splint it quickly, she told them. It took them nine of the ten minutes, and when the curtain collapsed they were already limping and slapping their way toward dry ground.
