A scene

Something has been stealing children from the villages along the Akela coast, and the elders are sure it is a demon. The mystic Tulok goes up into a cave above the sea and sits in silence for a whole day and a whole night, without food or water, turning his mind toward the darkness. The cold creeps in. Doubt creeps in. But at dawn on the second day he opens his eyes, and a name is in his mouth, a harsh, ugly, many-syllabled name. He does not say it aloud. Not yet.

The spell list's footnote 'restricted to practitioners of Mysticism only' is printed on the same line as Pathway of Knowledge, but the name itself carries no asterisk.
