The caster projects his Ki into a tight aura of protective energy 1 ft. around his body that nothing can break through. While it holds he takes no damage from physical attacks of any sort. Keeping it up needs total concentration, so he cannot attack or cast spells meanwhile. It lasts 1 minute per level of ability.

A scene
The robbers on the Mongala road cannot understand it. The old mystic they have surrounded does not fight back or even raise his staff. He just stands there, eyes closed, with a faint shimmer in the air around him, while their clubs and knives stop a hand's breadth from his skin as though they had struck stone. They hit him from behind, from the side, from above. Nothing gets through. After a while they are panting and he is still standing, silent and untouched. Finally they give up, gather their weapons and slink away into the grass.
