Food and water deprivation

Rule, Optional rules

Going without water or food drains Constitution, faster in hot dry climates unless travelers rest in shade.

From the book

A character without water loses a point of Constitution every day. In very hot, dry lands the loss doubles to two points a day, unless the character stays fairly inactive during the daytime and finds or makes shade to rest in. A robe pitched like a small tent is enough, and travelers can even keep riding a mount or wagon under such cover without overexerting themselves.

Going without food costs one point of Constitution for every two days. Characters can use hunting and foraging skills to find food.

At a glance

No water
-1 CON per day; -2 per day in very hot/dry climes unless inactive and shaded (a pitched robe suffices)
No food
