A heavy ballista throws stones for 3-36 damage, the greatest damage of any siege engine listed. It needs a crew of four or more and costs 200 G.P. Its effective range runs from 100 to 500 ft., and its long range from 400 to 1,000 ft.
Characters with the Siege Weapons skill (1,000 X.P.) are proficient in firing, running and maintaining ballistae and catapults of every type.
