Salawa

Place, City

The principal port of Kush and a key stop on Sheban trade routes, with poor naval facilities but a Merchant Quarter famed across Gondwana for fine, costly goods and pushy bazaar traders; Massawa covets it.

From the book

Salawa is the chief port of Kush and home to its tiny navy of four aging warships bought from Sheba, though its facilities stretch only to minor repairs, upkeep and storage. Its real importance is as a stop on the Sheban trade routes, which makes it the Kushite town foreigners visit most; most goods come from Sheba, and Tharshi wares arrive through Sheban or Qaddani middlemen.

The Merchant Quarter is famous throughout Gondwana for excellent, expensive merchandise and pushy bazaar traders, and it is a favorite stop for adventurers and merchants. Only a mountain range separates Salawa from Massawa, which is known to covet the port, so Kush keeps forts and lookout posts watching its approaches. Priestesses of Ahura maintain a temple here.
