The Lake of Dragons is the source of the Awaash River in Massawa's jungle interior, a place where dragons come to breed; herding villages line the river almost all the way up to it. Hoards of plundered treasure are believed to lie in the dragon caves around its shores, and legend places the ruined Atlantean city of Melka Kontaurea on its banks, making it a magnet for treasure seekers.
