Chu Tang is the larger and more lavish of Hwang province's two cities, a mining center for iron, copper, gold and jade. The deep Gorges of Chu Tang lie to its west and Baykal Lake to its north. Heavily armed caravans set out from Chu Tang carrying jade from the rich outpost of Khoyan in the Kunlun range to the capital, Tang.
