Creature, Spirit Entities
A towering green-skinned humanoid with blue-green hair and a great magical trident, summoned only near a large body of water. It gladly sinks ships that cross without leave, but will protect a voyage if asked for permission; it cancels a fire elemental.
From the book
A water elemental is an enormous humanoid, green-skinned, with long hair of blue-green. It can only be summoned close to a lake, river, ocean or other large body of water, with the caster no more than a hundred feet from it. It knows every spell affecting water and can teach or cast one to fulfill the pact of summoning.
Water elementals have no love for anyone who crosses their waters without first asking leave, so they are delighted to sink or wreck any seagoing ship on request. On the other hand, one summoned for the express purpose of asking permission to cross will feel honored and will guard the voyage; a ship under its protection is safe from attack by other water elementals. Ordered to attack a fire elemental, the two cancel each other out. Every water elemental carries a huge magical trident, which it sometimes uses in combat in place of its spells.
