The rarer serpent-tailed caste of the Naga, with humanoid upper bodies, who alone may serve as priests of Tiamat. They crush foes in their coils, may have a cobra-like bite, and can control nearby reptiles.

The Nagaraja, whose name means Naga kings, are the rarer form of the Naga race, making up only a small fraction of it. They have humanoid upper bodies joined to serpentine lower halves, and they alone may serve as priests and priestesses of Tiamat. In battle they are especially dangerous: besides casting spells, they can wrap their snake-like lower bodies around a victim and crush it, and some also have a venomous bite like a cobra's. Their empathy with reptiles is stronger than that of common Naga, letting them command any reptilian creature that comes within twenty feet. Like other Naga they may live up to 200 years, long enough to grow mighty in magic.
