Planetary Medallion
Magic item, Medallion
A once-per-day astrological medallion that reproduces one lesser or greater planetary spell, made from the metal and inscribed in the ink tied to that planet.
From the book
One of the two kinds of astrological medallion, a planetary medallion reproduces any one lesser or greater planetary spell of Astrology once a day. It must bear the astrological sign of its power and be made from an ounce of the metal tied to its planet, inscribed in that planet's ink: gold and yellow for the Sun, silver and blue for the Moon, brass and orange for Mercury, copper and green for Venus, iron and red for Mars, tin and violet for Jupiter, and lead and black for Saturn. Medallions are usually a single ounce of metal shaped like a coin; some work once a day, others without pause.
As a greater magic item its magic is permanent and renews itself each day. Making one calls for the materials of a minor magic item and two months plus two weeks for each level of the spell it holds, with a 99% chance of success; one offered for sale usually costs at least twice its materials plus 2,000 G.P. per week of enchanting. It counts toward the seven magic items a person may carry or wear at once; go past seven and none of them works.
