Lodestone carries the virtue of attraction and repulsion. Two drams of it with a carat of powdered beryl make a Potion of Charisma, lifting the drinker's Charisma by 1-4 points while it lasts. Two ounces go into an alchemical Rod of Detection, where it supplies the pull that lets the rod find a chosen metal, element or gem.
Refined into an essence, it becomes Essential Lodestone, a dull gray stone whose holder can raise a 10 ft. radius force-field for an hour, or dispel a similar field, once a day.
