The alchemical sign for sulfur. In the Alchemical Rod of Detection, sulfur serves as the bonding agent, and it is one of the ingredients of vitriol.
The alchemical signs are included as optional color, and a player or Game Judge may write them in place of ordinary abbreviations whenever he or she likes.
