Kuru is the capital and chief population center of Marhashi, a rocky coastal city spread along the banks of the River Grut. Its inland districts hold the wizards' estates, while the waterfront is crowded with markets, shops, storehouses and wharves. It is the only settlement in Marhashi with a large foreign community, and many Sheban ships, wary of the dragon-haunted Daraka range, skip the other ports and sail straight here.
