Omen
Spell, Divine Magic, level 1
Asks one yes/no question about whether an action helps or harms, answered by an omen from the caster's deity (a dove is favorable, a crow unfavorable).
From the book
Foretells whether an action will help or harm the party, or any individual, taking it. The caster asks one yes-or-no question and the caster's patron deity replies with a sign, good or bad.
A good sign might be a dove, sparrow, butterfly or fish appearing; a bad one might be a crow, buzzard, bat or snake. The Game Judge may choose an omen that is harder to read.

A scene
Twelve warships of Atlantis lie at anchor in Maelstrom Bay, waiting to sail against the corsairs, and the admiral wants to know if the gods approve. The priest of Poseidon stands at the bow of the flagship, asks his single question aloud, and waits with the whole fleet watching. For a long moment the sea is still. Then a silver fish leaps clean out of the water beside the hull, once, twice, and falls back with a splash. The admiral lets out a long breath and orders the anchors raised.
