The caster changes the pull of gravity on a solid object or creature, doubling its weight or halving it. This can make a thrown or falling object hit harder or softer, or lighten or burden someone's load. He can affect 50 lbs. per level of ability at up to 100 ft., for no more than 1 hour. Living creatures may save vs Will to avoid it.

A scene
The crate of scrolls from the Tang University Complex needs to go up four flights of stairs to the sorcerer's study, and the porters have already refused twice. The sorcerer Qin Ren sighs, lays his palm on the lid, and says a few precise words about mass and attraction. The porters try again. To their astonishment the crate comes up off the floor as if half of it had been emptied, and they carry it up the stairs at a trot. Qin Ren follows behind, making notes on how long they have before it grows heavy again.
